REMOVE MAIN CABIN SEATS AS REQUIRED FROM THE AIRCRAFT FOR THE INSTA LLATION OF THE FERRY SYSTEM. THE FERRY TANK SYSTEMS CONSISTS OF FOUR 300 GALLON TANKS MADE OF CLEAR HIGH MOLECULAR WEIGHT: HIGH DENSITY POLYTHYLENE CONTAINER WHICH PERMITS FUEL QUANTITY TO BE VERIFIED VISUALLY: SURROUNDED BY A RIDIG WELDED GALVANIZED TUBULAR STEEL GRID ALL SITTING ON A PRESSURED GALVANIZED STEEL BASE. THE FERRY TANKS ARE TO BE FILLED EVENLY, SO AS NOT TO SURPASS 110% OF THE AIRCRAFT WEIGHT LIMIT. EACH TANK HAS ITS OWN SHUT OFF VALVE TO CONTROL FLOW EVENLY FROM THE 4 TANKS TO MAINTAIN C.G. THESE TANKS FEED IN PARALLEL TO A MANIFOLD. THE MANIFOLD IS MOUNTED BY THE PILOT ON THE BULKHEAD. THE FERRY SYSTEM HAS TWO PUMPS AND TWO SHUT OFF VALVES TO SHUT-OFF VALVES INSTALLED IN-LINE ON TO THE AIRCRAFT'S AUXILIARY FUEL SYSTEM. THE MANIFOLD GRAVITY FLOWS FUEL INTO 2 ELECTRIC PUMPS THAT ARE IN PARALLELAND FEED INTO THE AIRCRAFT'S FERRY SYSTEM. THE PUMPS ARE OPERATED ONE AT A TIME. THE FERRY TANK SHUT-OFF VALVES NEED TO BE INDIVIDUALLY TURNED ON 1 AT A TIME FOR CG PURPOSES. ONCE THE TANK IS EMPTY THE VALVE ON THE TANK NEEDS TO BE SHUT OFF. TO OPERATE THE FERRY SYSTEM, YOU MUST TURN ON THE FUEL VALVE AND ONE FERRY PUMP AND MAKE SURE THAT IT HAS FUEL FLOWING TO THE AIRCRAFT FERRY SYSTEM WHILE MONITORING THE MAIN FUEL SYSTEM FUEL FLOW, AFTER THE FUEL IS RUNNING TURN THE MAIN SYSTEM FUEL VLAVES OF 1 AT A TIME, AND MONITOR FUEL FLOW. THE AIRCRAFTWILL RECEIVE ITS FUEL FROM THE FERRY SYSTEM AND THE FERRY PUMP WILL SUPPLY THE FUEL PRESSURE AND WILL OPERATE NORMALLY. TO SHUT FERRY SYSTEM OFF, TURN MAIN SYSTEM PUMPS ON AND SHUT OFF THE FERRY PUMP AND THE FERRY SHUT-OFF VALVE. THE FERRY SYSTEM IS HOOKED UP TO THE FACTORY
