THIS MAJOR ALTERATION CONSISTS OF A MODIFICATION TO THE AIRCRAFT FUEL SYSTEM TO INCORPORATE A TEMP. 100 GAL. EXTENDED RANGE FUEL TANK, & ASSOCIATED VALVES/PLUMBING FOR FERRY OPERATIONS. SYSTEM ALSO INCORPS.AN OIL REPLENISH SYSTEM. TANK MFR'D BY TDL AERO OF CALIFORNIA. TANK WILL BE LOCATED AT FUSELAGE STATION 175.0. TANK IS RECTANGULAR DESIGNAND WELDED TO MEET REQUIREMENTS OF FAR 23.963(A). TANK IS PRESSURE & LEAK CHECKED IAW FAR 23.965(A)(1). TEMP EXTENDED RANGE FUEL TANK IS GROUNDED TO AIRCRAFT STRUCTURE. TANK IS VENTED TO POSITIVE AIR PRES- SURE THROUGH A VENT SYSTEM FROM A SINGLE LOCATION ON R/H AFT SIDE OF FUSELAGE. SYSTEM INCORPORATES A FUEL JETTISON SYSTEM, CONTROLLED BY AVALVE WHICH THE PILOT OPERATES. FUEL IS JETTISONED THROUGH PLUMBING EXITING ACFT FROM THE MODIFIED TEMP. INSPECTION PANEL CIRRUS P/N 20317-001 LOCATION RE3 ON R/H AFT SIDE OF FUSELAGE. THE CABIN FLOOR IS REINFORCED WITH 1/2" PLYWOOD. TANK RESTS IN A WELDED ALUMINUM TRAYWHICH IS BOLTED TO THE AFT PASSENGER SEAT BELT ATTACH POINTS. TANK ISSECURED IN THE WELDED ALUMINUM TRAY BY THE USE OF 1/8" AIRCRAFT CABLE AND TURNBUCKLES ATTACHED BY A BRACKET WHICH IS MOUNTED TO THE AIRCRAFTSEAT TRACK ASSEMBLY AND 222 BULKHEAD CROSS MEMBER. ADDITIONALLY, THE TANK IS SECURED TO THE WELDED ALUMINUM TRAY BY THE USE OF 4 SUPER DUTYSMART STRAPS. TWO STRAPS RETAIN THE TANK TO THE TRAY FORE AND AFT, ANDTWO RETAIN THE TANK INBOARD OUTBOARD. TEMP. 100 GAL. FERRY TANK FEEDSTO THE FERRY FUEL SELECTOR VALVE THROUGH A LINE & T-FITTINGS INSTALLEDBETWEEN THE AIRCRAFT FUEL SELECTOR VALVE AND THE AIRCRAFT BOOST PUMP. MOUNTED ON A FIREWALL IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. A T-FITTING IS FERRY TANK FEEDS TO THE FERRY FUEL SELECTOR VALVE THROUGH A NO. 8 HOSE |
