THIS AIRCRAFT HAS BEEN FITTED WITH AN AUXILIARY FERRY FUEL SYSTEM TO ENABLE PERIODIC OVERSEAS DELIVERY, IN ACCORDANCE WITH SOUTHERN CROSS AVIATION INC, (SCA) FERRY FUEL SYSTEMS ENGINEERING DOCUMENT, CESSNA 208 SERIES AIRCRAFT, REPORT NO. SCA A004, DATED 7/14/1996. THE FUEL TANKS ARE MANUFACTURED BY PROFAB INC. THEY ARE CONSTRUCTED FROM 50/52 H32, 0.05" 1/4 HARD ALUMINUM. ALL SEAMS ARE WELDED WITH TIG 5356 HELIARC WELDING ROD. THE FUEL OUTLET IS POSITIONED TO ALLOW 1/2" WATERTRAP IN THE BOTTOM OF THE TANK. THE TANKS ARE FITTED WITH PRESSURIZA TION FLAPPER VALVES FOR INSTALLATION IN PRESSURIZED FUSELAGES. THE PROTOTYPE TANKS WERE TESTED TO 24.0 PSI, WITHOUT FAILURE. ALL TANKS ARE TESTED TO 3.5 PSI. THE TANKS MEET THE REQUIREMENTS OF FAR 23.965 AND FAR 25.965. THE TANKS ARE LOCATED IN THE CABIN ON PLYWOOD FOR EVENLOAD DISTRIBUTION. THEY ARE SECURED IN PLACE USING 5000 LBS. CARGO STRAPS AND SEAT TRACK ANCHORS TO EXISTING SEAT ATTACHMENT POINTS. FUELIS ROUTED THROUGH A MANIFOLD TO (2) 200GPH/10 PSI ELECTRIC FUEL PUMPS,CONNECTED IN SERIES, INDIVIDUALLY OPERATED, TO AN AN BULKHEAD FITTING IN THE WING ROOT TO A T-FITTING TO THE FORWARD FUEL LINE. THE FUEL TANKS ARE VENTED TO A COMMON LINE VENTED TO THE RELIEF TUBE OF THE RH CREW DOOR OR TO AN AN BULKHEAD FITTING THROUGH THE LOWER AFT EMPENNAGEEACH TANK IS FITTED WITH A FLAPPER VALVE WHICH EQUALIZES CABIN PRESSURE AND FERRY TANK PRESSURE. A PLACARD DETAILING OPERATION OF THEFERRY FUEL SYSTEM IS DISPLAYED IN THE AIRCRAFT. THE GWTO IN THE FERRY CONFIGURATION DOES NOT EXCEED 130% OF THE NORMAL GWTO. UPON ARRIVAL ATTHE DESTINATION, THE FERRY FUEL SYSTEM IS TO BE REMOVED AND THE AIRCRAFT CONFIGURED BACK TO NORMAL CONFIGURATION BEFORE FURTHER OPERA
