THIS MAJOR ALTERATION CONSISTS OF THE MODICATION TO THE AIRCRAFT FUEL SYSTEM TO INCORPORATE A TEMPORARY EXTENDED RANGE FUEL CONSISTING OF TWO ALUMINUM FERRY FUEL TANKS, 4 FUEL SELECTOR VALVES AND ASSOCIATED FERRY FUEL FEED LINES, FITTINGS AND VENT SYSTEM. THIS SYSTEM IS USED IN CONNECTION WITH TWO AN824-4 TEE FITTINGS THAT REPLACE TWO AN815-4 UNIONS THAT ARE REMOVED FROM THE AIRCRAFT FUEL TANK DRAIN LINES IN THELOWER SIDE PANELS OF TH FUSELAGE, LEADIN TO THE DRAIN VALVES IN THE FORWARD FUSELAGE NOSE SECTION. THE FERRY FUEL IS FEED TO THE FUEL SUMPLINES USING CABIN PRESSURIZATION TO REFILL THE MAIN AIRCRAFT FUEL TANKS. THE SYSTEM IS REQUIRED TO EXTEND THE RANGE FOR A FLIGHT FROM CALIFORNIA TO AFRICA. THIS MAJOR ALTERATION WILL CONSIST OF REMOVING THE AIRCRAFT PASSENGER SEATS, FURNISHINGS AND EQUIPMENT, AS REQUIRED, FROM THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT AND INSTALLING A TEMPORARY FERRY FUEL SYSTEM IN THE CABIN. THE TEMPORARY FERRY FUEL SYSTEM WILL BE CONNECTEDTO THE AIRCRAFT MAIN FUEL SUMP LINES. THE FERRY FUEL TANK SYSTEM CONSISTS OF TWO ALUMINUM TANKS. THE TOTAL CAPACITY OF THE FUEL TANKS IS 150 GALLONS. NUMBER 1 75 GALLONS RIGHT HAND SIDE STATION 165. NUMBER 2 75 GALLONS RIGHT HAND SIDE STATION 195. THE TANKS ARE RECTANGULAR IN DESING AND CONSTRUCTED FROM 5052 ALUMINUM .100 INCHES THICK BY ROYALL MANUFACTURING OF PLACERVILLE, CA. THE TANKS ARE PRESSURE AND LEAKED CHECKED AS PER PERTINENT FARS. THE TANKS ARE ELECTRICALLY GROUNDED TO AIRCRAFT STRUCTURE. THE TANKS ARE VENTED TO POSITIVE CABIN PRESSURE, THROUGH A VENT AND CHECK VALVE SYSTEM. THE TANKS ARE MOUNTED ON 1/2 INCH PLYWOOD PALLET AND THE CABIN TANKS ARE BLOCKED BY THE FORWARD SPAR CARRY THROUGH AND THE REAR SEAT FRAME. THE
