INTRODUCTION: INSTALLATION OF TWO (2) LONG RANGE FERRY FUEL TANKS TO EXTEND THE RANGE OF THE AIRCRAFT. DESCRIPTION: INSTALLED TWO (2) INDEPENDENT FUEL TANKS (300 GALLONS) ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE AIRCRAFT MAIN CABIN. ONE FROM STATION 197.2 TO 274.1 AND THE SECOND FUEL TANK IS AT STATION 300.7 TO STATION 376.4. EACH TANK IS TO HAVE SEPARATE FUEL FILLS MOUNTED AT STATION 210 IN PLACE OF THE WINDOW & AT STATION 360. EACH STATION IS COVERED WITH A .060 ALUMINUM DOOR FITTED WITH 2 THUMB LATCHES AND A SMALL-FABRICATED AIR SCOOP TO PROVIDE VENTILATION AND POSITIVE PRESSURE IN THE FILLING AREA. PUMPS TO BE CONTROLLED FROM COCKPIT. EACH TANK TO HAVE OWN CONTENTS GAUGES AND LOW PRESSURE INDICATOR. TANKS WILL BE INTERCONNECTED VIA MANUAL VALVES FOR BACK UPFOR PUMP FAILURE, AND WAY TO PURGE OR DRAIN FUEL. EACH SYSTEM INCORPORATES ONE (1) BOOST PUMP, ONE (1) BALL VALVE MOUNTED TO TANK BLADDER FITTING AND ONE (1) LOW PSI SWITCH. TANK VENTING IS ACHIEVED THROUGH #16 AN BRAIDED HOSING THROUGH A FILTERED FITTING IN EACH FUEL SERVICE BAY. EACH TANK SYSTEM INCLUDES A GREEN PUMP INDICATOR AND A RED LOW PSI INDICATOR, CONTENTS GAUGE, BOOST PUMP SWITCH, AND AN AUDIBLE WARNING HORN FOR LOW-PRESSURE INDICATION. AIRCRAFT LEVELING VALVES ARE AUTOMATICALLY OPENED VIA EITHER OF THE BOOST PUMP SWITCHES.A TANK INTERCONNECT AND DRAIN SYSTEM COMPRISED OF THREE (3) #16 BALL VALVES IS AVAILABLE FOR MANUAL CROSS FEED AND DRAINING OF THE FUEL TANK SYSTEM VIA A FITTING AND PLUMBING MOUNTING TO THE AIRCRAFT UNDER-SIDE STN 285-550. FUEL IS MOVED TO TANKS 1 & 4 FROM EACH PERSPECTIVE FUEL CELL VIA THE ELECTRIC BOOST PUMPS AND ROUTED IN 111-8 HOSE ALONG THE AIRCRAFT LEFT WALL THROUGH THE AIRCRAFT ROOF AT STN 250 VIA BULK |
