INSTALLED TWO (2) EA. 80 GALLON EXTENDED RANGE FUEL TANKS IN THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT BETWEEN FUSELAGEW STATIONS 104 AND 152. TANKS WERE LOCALLY FABRICATED AND PRESSURE TESTED USING ACCEPTED INDUSTRY PRACTICES, AC 43.13-1B AND AC 43.13-2B FOR GUIDLINES. TANKS ARE INTERNALLY BAFFLED AND REINFORCED BY TWO BAFFLES PER TANK. CONSTRUCTION IS OF .05 3003 H14 ALUMINUM. DIMENSIONS FOR FORWARD TANK ARE 20 1/2 INCHES HIGH X 20 1/2 INCHES WIDE X 48 INCHES LONG. DIMENSIONS FOR AFT TANKE ARE 20 1/2 INCHES HIGH X 19 INCHES WIDE X 48 INCHES LONG. WEIGHT IS 30 AND 28 POUNDS RESPECTFULLY. (SEE ATTACHED PHOTOS 1 OF 7) BEECHCRAFT P/N 18440-SA 1 FILLER NECK INSTALLED IN LEFTFUSELAGE SKIN AT STATION 114. VENTING IS EXTERNAL OF AIRCRAFT THRU FILLER CAP. AFT TANK IS VENTED VIA AN INTERCONNECTING #4 ALUMINUM TUBING LOCATED ON RIGHT TOP OF TANKS. (SEE ATTACHED PHOTOS 2 & 3 OF 7)FUEL FROM THE TANKS IF SUPPLIED TO THE EXISTING UNUSED PORT OF THE FUEL SELECTOR VALVE VIA NEW #10 STATOFLEX HOSES. BOTH TANKS HOSED AREQTEED TOGETHER, THUS FEED IS FROM BOTH TANKS. FUEL SELECTOR LABELED "AUX REAR 160 GAL" IN AFT POSITION. (SEE ATTACHED PHOTO 4 & 5 OF 7) TANKS ARE SECURED TO FORWARD CABIN BULKHEAD AND CABIN FLOOR BY TWO 1 1/2 INCH ALUMINUM ANGLES RUNNING FORE AND AFT ON TOP OF TH TANKS AT THE REINFORCED AREAS. THESE ANGLE STRAPS ARE SECURED TO THE FORWARDCABIN SPAR COBER USING EXISTING NUTPLATES AND TO THE INBOARD SEAT RAILS USING CARGO TIE DOWNS AND ADJUSTABLE TENSIONERS. (SEE ATTACHED PHOTOS 6 & 7 OF 7) INSTRUCTIONS FOR CONTINUED AIRWORTHINESS (ICA) FOR THIS EXTENDED RANGE FUEL SYSTEM IS PROVIDED BY FOLLOWING THE SERVICINGCARE AND INSPECTION INSTRUCTIONS OF THE BEECHCRAFT MODEL 18 |
