THIS MAJOR ALTERATION CONSISTS OF A MODIFICATION TO THE AIRCRAFT FUEL SYSTEM TO INCORPORATE A TEMPORARY EXTENDED RANGE FUEL CONSISTING OF 2 ALUMINUM FERRY FUEL TANKS, A FUEL SELECTOR VALVE MANIFOLD AND ASSOCI- ATED FERRY FUEL FEED LINES FITTINGS AND VENT SYSTEM. THIS SYSTEM IS USED IN CONNECTION WITH THE NORMAL AIRCRAFT FUEL BOOST PUMPS. THE FUELLINES ARE ROUTED FROM THE FERRY FUEL TANK TO INDIVIDUAL FERRY FUEL SELECTOR VALVES AND THEN TO THE TEE FITTING INSTALLED IN THE AIRCRAFT FUEL LINES, BETWEEN THE LEFT AND RIGHT FUEL SELECTOR VALVES AND THE LEFT AND RIGHT BOOST PUMPS. THERE IS A VENT FITTING INSTALLED IN THE LOWER FUESELAGE TO ALLOW POSITIVE VENT PRESSURE TO THE 2 FERRY FUEL TANKS. THE 2 FERRY FUEL TANKS ARE MOUNTED ON PALLETS ACROSS THE SEAT RAILS, CENTER SECTION FLOORING AND SECURED BY 6 PIPER RAIL TYPE CARGO RINGS, ON THE FORWARD SEAT RAILS AND 4 SEATBELTS ATTACH FITTINGS IN THE REAR OF THE AIRPLANE. ADJUSTABLE CARGO STRAPS ARE USED TO SECURE THE FORWARD AND REAR TANKS. THE TANKS ARE BONDED TO THE FUSELAGE FOR GROUNDING. THIS SYSTEM ALLOWS NORMAL OPERATION OF THE AIRCRAFT FUEL FEED SYSTEM TO THE ENGINE, WITH EITHER THE AIRCRAFT MAIN TANKS OR THE FERRY FUEL TANKS. OTHER MODIFICATIONS TO THE AIRCRAFT TO ACCOMMODATE THE FERRY FUEL SYSTEM ARE THE REMOVAL OF THE COPILOTS SEAT AND SEATS 3,4,5 AND 6 TO ACCOMMODATE THE FERRY FUEL TANKS. ADDITIONALLY THERE ISA TEMPORARY OIL REPLENISHING SYSTEM INTALLED. THE OIL SYSTEM CONSISTS OF A HAND OIL PUMP, OIL SUPPLY LINES, A LEFT AND RIGHT SELECTOR MANIFOLD ND VALVES, SUPPLY LINES THAT FEED TO CAPS INSTALLED ON BOTH OIL FILLER NECKS WITH SUPPLY FITTINGS INSTALLED. THESE 2 SYSTEMS ARE REQUIRED TO EXTEND THE RANGE FOR THE FLIGHT FROM NORTH LAS VEGAS, NV
