INSTALLATION OF TURTLEPAC MODEL HELI 21 EXT 21 GAL AIRCRAFT FERRY TANKS/N 4556 IN PASSENGER CPMPARTMENT IAW FAA FORM 8110-3 DATED 2/23/2016 (SEE ATTACHMENT). INSTALLED IN 24V DC ELECTRIC TRANSFER PUMP, MOUNTED TO EXISTING AIRCRAFT HARDWARE, THAT IS POWERED BY THE AIRCRAFT ACCESSORY (CIGARETTE LIGHTER) PLUG, THE TRANSFER PUMP WAS SUPPLIED WITH A SELF CONATAINED REMOTE MOUNT SWITCH AND CIRCUIT BREAKER WHICH IS USED TO CONTROL THE PUMP. THE FUEL CAPJ WAS MODIFIED BY DRILLING AND TAPPING A 1/8" NPT HOLE FOR INSTALLATION OF A HOSE BARB FITTING TOCONNECT THE SUPPLY LINE FROM THE TRANSFER PUMP TO THE FILLER PORT OF THE AIRCRAFT FUEL CELL. THE TRANSFER FUEL LINE WAS ROUTED THROUGH AN OPERATIONAL SLIDING VENT IN THE RH PASSENGER COMPARTMENT DOOR. WEIGHT AND BALANCE CALCULATIONS HAVE DETERMINED THAT THIS INSTALLATION WILL NOT ADVERSLY EFFECT THE AIRCRAFT LIMITAIONS(SEE W&B FORM IN POH DATED 2/13/2016). THIS INSTALLATION IS CONSIDERED TO BE A MINOR ALTERATION BECAUSE THE AIRCRAFT STRUCTURE FUEL, AND ELECTRICAL SYSTEM WERE NOT CHANGED FROM THEIR BASIC DESIGN. |
