THE ALTERATION CONSISTS OF A TEMPORARY FERRY FUEL AND OIL SYSTEM INSALLED IN THE AIRCRAFT UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF FAA ORDER 8130.2F PARAGRAPH 191 (A)(2) "ISSUANCE OF SPECIAL FLIGHT PERMIT FOR DELIVERY OR EXPORT". THIS INSTALLATION REQUIRES OPERATION IN ACCORDANCE WITH A SPECIAL FLIGHT PERMIT/OR UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF PUBLIC USE AIRCRAFTOPERATED UNDER A US GOVERNMENT CONTRACT. THIS FORM AND THE MUST BE CARRIED ABOARD THE AIRCRAFT AT ALLTIMES, WHEN OPERATING AS ALTERED HEREIN. A TEMPORARY FERRY FUEL SYSTEM CONSISTING OF THREE ALUMINUM FERRY FUEL TANKS IS INSTALLED IN THE AIRCRAFT AS DESCRIBED. ONE 90 GALLON TANK MOUNTED AT STATION 150, AND TWO 105 GALLON FERRY FUEL TANKS MOUNTED AT STATION 180. THIS GIVES THE TOTAL OF 300 GALLONS OF FERRY FUEL INSTALLED IN THE CABIN. 3/8 INCH PLYWOOD PALLETS ARE CONSTRUCTED TO OVERLAY THE CABIN FLOOR. THE TANKS ARE SECURED IN THE CABIN BY 4 5000 POUND CARFO TIE DOWNS STRAPS SECURED TO CARGO SYSTEMS PIPER PA31 SEAT RAIL TIE DOWN RINGS INSTALLED IN THE SEAT TRACKS, FOREAND AFT. THE FERRY FUEL TANK INSTALLATION FEEDS TO A SELECTOR VALVE MANIFOLD THAT HAS SEPERATED ON/OFF BALL VALVES FOR EACH TANK AND SEPERATELY TO BOTH ENGINES AND ADDITIONAL VALVE PROVIDES FERRY FUEL DUMP CAPABILITY. THIS SYSTEM IS INSTALLED FOR A ONE TIME DELIVERY FLIGHT FROM HAWAII TO TINIAN NMI. THE SYSTEM MUST BE REMOVED AND THE AIRCRAFT RETURNED TO NORMAL CONFIGURATION, UPON ARRIVAL AT THE DESTINATION. THE OPERATION OF THIS AIRCRAFT WITH THE INSTALLED FERRY FUEL ANDOIL SYSTEMS MAY NOT BE CONDUCTED UNDER STANDARD AIRWORTHINESS REQUIREMENTS. THE OPERATION OF THE AIRCRAFT IS UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF A CONTRACT WITH THE NAVAL RESEARCH INSTITUTE.
