THIS MAJOR ALTERATION CONSITS OF A MODIFICATION TO THE AIRCRAFT FUEL SYSTEM TO INCORPORATE A TEMPORARY EXTENDED RANGE FUEL CONSISTING OF THREE ALUMINUM FERRY FUEL TANKS, A FUEL SELECTOR VALVE MANIFLD AND ASSOCIATED FERRY FUEL FEED LINES FITTINGS AND VENT SYSTEM. A TEMPORARY HAND PUMP OIL REPLENISHING SYSTEM IS ALSO INSTALLED. THESE SYSTEMS AREREQUIRED TO EXTEND THE RANGE OF THE AIRCRAFT, FOR A ONE TIME FERRY FLIGHT FROM HONOLULU, HAWAII TO MERCED, CALIFORNIA. THIS MAJOR ALTERA TION WILL CONSIST OF REMOVING THE AIRCRAFT PASSENGER SEATS, FURNISHINGAND EQUIPMENT, AS REQUIRED, FROM THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT AND INSTALLING A TEMPORARY FERRY FUEL SYSTEM IN THE CABIN. THE TEMPORARY FERRY FUEL SYSTEM WILL BE CONECTED TO THE AIRCRAFT FUEL LINE AND VAPOR RETURN LINE THROUGH TEE FITTINGS INSTALLED AT THE INSIDE FIREWALL FUELLINE CONNECTIONS. THE TOTAL CAPACITY OF THE FUEL TANKS IS 130 GALLONS.THE TANKS ARE RECTANGULAR IN DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTED FROM 5052 ALUMINUM.100 INCHES THICK BY ROYALL MANUFACTURING OF PLACERVILLE, CALIFORNIA. THE TANKS ARE PRESSURE AND LEAKED CHECKED AS PER PERTINENT FARS. THE TANKS ARE ELECTRICALLY GROUNDED TO AIRCARFT STRUCTURE. THE TANKS ARE VENTED TO POSTIVE RAM PRESSRUE, THROUGH A VENT SYSTEM. THE TANKS ARE MOUNTED ON 1/2 INCH PLYWOOD PALLETS. TANKS TWO AND THREE ARE SECURED WITH (4 EACH) 2000 POUND ADJUSTABLE CARGO STRAPS AND SECURED TO 4 POINT TIE DOWNS ATTACHED TO EXISTING SEAT RAILS. TANK ONE IS SECURED WITH (3) 2000 POUND ADJUSTABLE CARGO STAPS AND SECURED TO 4 POINTS OF THE FORWARD SEAT RAILS CARGO RINGS. THE FULE LINES ARE ROUTED FROM THETANKS TO INDIVIDUAL FUEL TANK SELECOTR VALVES AND A COMMON MANIFOLD THEN TO A TEE FITTING INSTALLED BETWEEN THE AIRCRAFT FUEL LIN AND THE

ALTERATION BY THE INSTALLATION OF A RUBBER BLADDER TYPE FUEL FERRY TANK IN THE AIRCRAFT CABIN AT F.S. 170, WITH TWO ELECTRIC AUX FUEL PUMPS AND ONE MANUAL AUX FUEL BOOST TRANSFER PUMPS. THE ELECTRIC AUX FUEL PUMPS ARE SUPPLIED WITH POWER FROM THE MAIN ELECTRIC BUSS THRU A 10 AMP CIRCUIT BREAKER SWITCH. FLEXIBLE FUEL PLUMBING ATTACHED TO THEAIRCRAFT FUEL SYSTEM IAW MACLEAY AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE PTY LTD PER ENGINEERING DRAWING 205/270/FOS. NO FUEL VENT SYSTEM IS INSTALLED, DUE TO RUBBER TANKS THAT COLLAPSE AS FUEL IS TRANSFERRED OUT. THE BLADDER IS SECURED TO THE CABIN FLOOR STRUCTURE PER FAR 23.561(B)(3). THE FUEL TRANSFER PUMPS AND CONTROL ARE MOUNTED TO THE CABIN FLOOR, INPLACE OF THE COPILOTS SEAT. ALL CABIN SEATS HAVE BEEN REMOVED. A COMPLETE WEIGHT AND BALANCE REPORT WAS COMPLETED FOR THE FLIGHT, THAT INCLUDED A SELECTIVE FUEL BURN TRANSFER SCHEDULE. FUEL BURN AND TRANSFER SCHEDULE IS REQUIRED TO CONTROL C.G. LOCATIONS.
