| INSTALLED TEMPORARY FUEL SYSTEM: 1) AIRCRAFT HOPPER WAS CLEANED AND SEALED AND IS BEING USED AS THE FERRY TANK. A STANDPIPE STYLE PICKUP IS MOUNTED IN THE BOTTOMPLATE AND PROTUDES INTO THE HOPPER A DISTANCE OF TWO(2) INCHES. THIS ARRANGEMENT PROVIDES FOR FIVE (5) GALLONS OF USABLE FUEL. 2) A 3/8 NEOPRENE HOSE IS ATTACHED TO STANDPIPE OUTLET AND IS CONNECTED THROUGH A MANUALLY OPERATED "ON-OFF" VALVE TO A STANDARD AN TEE FITTING. 3/8 INCH TUBING OF SAME TYPE IS ROUTED FROM TEE FITTING TO TWO SEPARATE FACET 12 Y.D.C PUMPS POWERED INDIVIDUALLY FROM MAIN AIRCRAFT BUS THROUGH SEPARATE 5 AMP CIRCUIT BREAKERS TO MANUALLY OPERATED "ON-OFF" SWITCHES TO THE PUMPS. ANOTHER STANDARD AN TEE FITTING INSTALLED DOWNSTREAM OF PUMPS AND SWITCHES TO PUMPS, AND ALLOWS EITHER PUMP TO TRANSFER FUEL FROM HOPPER TO AIRCRAFT RESERVOIR TANK, WHICH HAS A THIRD AN TEE FITTING INSTALLED IN EXISTING TRANFER LINE FROM AIRCRAFT WING FUEL TANK. HOPPER DEPLETION IS MONITORED BY USING HOPPER SIGHT GLASS AND AIRCRAFT FUEL QUANTITY GUAGES. SEE ATTACHED FERRY FUEL SCHEMATIC. HOPPER TANK IS LIMITED TO 186 U S GALLONS OF 100/130 OCTANE AVIATION FUEL SO AS NOT TO EXCEED THE CERTIFICATED GROSS WEIGHT OF AIRCRAFT. HOPPER CAPACITY IS 200 GALLONS.HOPPER FILLER PORT WAS PLACARDED ACCORDINGLY. INSTALLATION WAS COM- PLETED IN ACCORDANCE WITH AC21-4B, PAR.5(A)(B)(C)(E)(F)(G)(H), ORDER 8130.2B, PAR. 163B(2)(B), B(3)(A)(C)(D)(E), 4: AC43.13-1A CHAPTER 14 SEC.2 PAR 709,710,711, AND 712. STANDARD PRACTICES AND MATERIALS USED THROUGHOUT THIS INSTALLATION. SEE 337. | |||
