| THIS MAJOR ALTERATION CONSISTS OF A MODIFICATION TO THE AIRCRAFT FUEL SYSTEM TO INCORPORATE A TEMPORARY EXTENDED RANGE FUEL SYSTEM, CONSIST ING OF ONE ALUMINUM FERRY FUEL TANK, A FUEL SELECTOR VALVE MANIFOLD AND ASSOCIATED FERRY FUEL FEED LINES FITTINGS, VAPOR RETURN SYSTEM AND VENT SYSTEM. THE FUEL LINE FROM THE AIRCRAFT FUEL SELECTOR IS DISCONNECTED FROM THE INLET SIDE OF THE AIRCRAFT ELECTRIC BOOST PUMP. A TEE FITTING IS INSTALLED ON THE FUEL PUMP INLET AND BOTH THE AIR CRAFT MAIN FUEL LINE AND THE FERRY FUEL SUPPLY LINE ARE CONNECTED TO THE COMMON TEE. THER IS A TEE FITTING INSTALLED IN THE AIRCRAFT VAPOR RETURN LINE TO ALLOW VAPOR RETURN FUEL TO FLOW THROUGH A SHUTOFF VALVE TO THE FERRY FUEL TANK. THERE IS A VENT FITTIG INSTALLED IN THE LOWER FUSELAGE TO ALLOW POSITIVE VENT PRESSURE TO THE TWO FERRY FUEL TANKS. THE FERRY FUEL TANK IS MOUNTED ON PALLET ACROSS THE SEAT RAILS SECURED USING CARGO SYSTEMS, INC. CESSNA SEAT RAIL TYPE CARGO RINGS, AND (2) 2500 POUND CARGO STRAPS. THE TANK IS BONDED TO THE FUSELAGE FOR GROUNDING. THIS SYSTEM ALLOWS NORMAL OPERATION OF THE AIRCRAFT FUEL FEED SYSTEM TO THE ENGINE, WITH EITHER THE AIRCRAFT MAIN TANKS ORFERRY FUEL TANK. OTHER MODIFICATIONS TO THE AIRCRAFT TO ACCOMMODATE FERRY FUEL SYSTEM ARE THE REMOVAL OF SEATS 3 AND 4 TO ACCOMMODATE THE FERRY FUEL TANKS. THE SYSTEM INCORPORATES TWO FERRY FUEL SELECTOR VALVES (1) FERRY TANK VALVE AND (1) FERRY FUEL DUMP VALVE. THE OIL SYSTEM IS COMPRISED OF A HAND OIL PUMP, A SHUTOFF VLAVE AND OIL SUPPLYLINE RUNNING THROUGH THREE AN832/833-8 BULKHEAD FITTINGS TO AN OIL FILLER CAP WITH A BULKHEAD FITTING INSTALLED AT THE OIL FILLER NECK. OIL IS HAND PUMPED DIRECTLY INTO THE OIL FILLER TUBE. WHEN REQUIRED. | |||
