THIS MAJOR ALTERATION CONSISTS OF A MODIFICATION TO THE AICRAFT FUEL SYSTEM TO INCORPORATE A TEMPORARY EXTENDED RANGE FUEL SYSETM, CONSIS TING OF THREE ALUMINUM FERRY FUEL TANKS, 5 FUEL SELECTOR VALVES AND ASSOCIATED FERRY FUEL FEED LINES AND FITTINGS. A TEMPORARY OIL SYSTEM IS INCORPORATED WITHA HAND PUMP TO REPLENISH THE ENGINE OIL SUPPLY, THE SYSTEMS ARE REQUIRED TO EXTEND THE RANGE FOR A ONE TIME DELIVERY FLIGHT FROM MERCED, CALIFORNIA TO HONOLULU, HAWAII. THIS MAJOR ALTERA TION WILL CONSISTS OF REMOVING THE AIRCRAFT COPILOT SEAT, CENTER SEATSREAR SEAT AND CARPETS FROM THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT AND INSTALLING A TEMPORARY FERRY FUEL SYSTEM IN THE CABIN. THE TEMPORARY FERRY FUEL SYSTEM WILL BE CONNECTED TO THE AIRCRAFT MAIN FUEL SYSTEM. THE FERRY FUEL TANK SYSTEM CONSISTS OF ONE THREE 60 GALLON CABIN TANKS. THIS PROVIDES A TOAL OF 180 GALLONS OF ADDITION FERRY FUEL. THE TANKS ARE RECTANGULARE IN DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTED FROM 5052 ALUMINUM .100 INCHES THICK. THE TANKS ARE PRESSURE AND LEAKED CHECKED PER PERTINENT FARS.Q THE TANKS ARE ELECTRICALLY GROUNDED TO AIRCRAFT STRUCTURE. THE TANKS ARE VENTED TO POSITIVE AIR PRESSURE, THROUGH A VENT SYSTEM AND A RAM AIR VENT FITTING. THE TANKS ARE MOUNTED ON 1/2 INCH PLYWOOD PALLETS. THE TANKS ARE SECURED TO THE AIRFRAME USING THE FOLLOWING TIE DOWNS, THE AFT CABIN CARGO TIE DOWN SEAT ATTACH BRACKETS, CENTER SEAT RAIL CARGO RINGS, FOWAR SEAT RAIL ATTCH POINTS USING 1 1/8 INCH STEEL CABLE(4) 2500 POUND CARGO STRAPS, AND (2) 900 POUND CARGO STRAPS SECURE THETHREE CABIN TANKS. A FUEL SELECTOR MANIFOLD IS CONSTRUCTED USING 3/8 INCH PIPE FITTINGS AND 3/8 INCH VALVES WITH NO. 6 FUEL FEE LINES FROM THE CABIN TANKS TO THE SELECTORS AND NO. 5 LINES TO THE AIRCRAFT FUEL
